Hunt frustrated by stalemate

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt was left desolate after his team failed to convert numerous scoring chances against Free State Stars on Saturday.

The Students looked in full control against Ea Lla Koto but were unable to turn their dominance into goals as they eventually had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

The result meant the Clever Boys fell further behind Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on the table, with the Brazilians now six points clear with five games remaining this season.

"What do you want me to say? It could have been a cricket score. The score could have been eight, nine, ten, whatever," a fuming Hunt told KickOff.

"That's how it goes, it's frustrating for us, we didn't play great but we should have won by double figures."

Hunt says that they should be winning games by a "country mile" and despite their latest set back he remains positive as he wants his team to keep going.

Wits return to action on Saturday, April 23 in a Nedbank Cup quarter-final clash at Goble Park.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
