Bidvest Wits head coach Gavin Hunt says there won't be much time for signings if the current season overlaps with the upcoming 2020/2021 Absa Premiership campaign.
With all sporting activities suspended as a result of the coronavirus, uncertainty remains as to when the Premier Soccer League will resume.
Apart from the time factor, clubs will feel the financial pinch of inactivity, leading to further reduced transfer business.
Hunt told Soccer Laduma: "We know where our problems are. It’s really simple. We need to fix them, but the problem is that if the season does overlap, you are not going to have much time to get a player, there won’t be much movement.
"Your window period of trying to trade is going to be very short."
Wits entered the enforced break in sixth place in the league standings, ten points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
Hunt added: "There was a lot we were doing after games anyway. We’ve got all the time and games now, but to sit and watch them all over again is a little bit pain staking.
"We’ve obviously got to have one eye on finishing and one eye on the future and have a clear plan on what should happen. I have gone over a few games here and there, but you can’t do it all the time."
