Hunt confirms Wits are looking for Pelembe

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt says he has no idea why winger Elias Pelembe did not turn up for the Platinum Stars match last weekend.

Pelembe had been away with the Mozambique team during the international break, but failed to return to Johannesburg ahead of the Dikwena match, which the Students won 2-0.

And according to former SuperSport United coach Hunt, it's not the first time the former PSL Player of the Season has disappeared without explanation.

"Pelembe never turned up. He was in the team for the Platinum Stars game but didn't pitch," the 52-year-old told The Citizen.

"He has always been like that, he never turns up. It also happened when we were at SuperSport United.

Hunt says he's unsure yet what consequences Pelembe's action will have.

"What can we say? He knows why he didn't pitch, but we don't. No decision has been taken yet on what will happen to him, but we will certainly sort it out," he explained.
