Cape Town - Dan Malesela has confirmed he has been sacked as head coach of Chippa United, just three matches into the season.
The Chilli Boys managed just a single point from their opening three league matches, and having called off training on Monday afternoon, Malesela has now confirmed he's no longer in charge of the Port Elizabeth-based team.
"My contract has been terminated. I got the letter [on Monday] night. I haven't spoken to him (club boss, Chippa Mpengesi), but I think it's all about patience. It's embarrassing for me. I can't suffer this humiliation," Malesela told Soccer Laduma.
Former Orlando Pirates and Sundowns defender Malesela made his coaching name at Cape Town All Stars in the National First Division before joining Chippa for a first spell.
He was replaced by Tebogo Moloi, who himself made way for Vladislav Heric, who in turn was replaced by Malesela for his second rein with Chippa.
Former SuperSport United head coach Eric Tinkler is believed to be a strong candidate for the Chilli Boys job.
