Cape Town - Free State Stars drew 1-1 with Bloemfontein Celtic in a Premiership clash at Goble Park on Saturday.
Goodman Dlamini broke the deadlock five minutes into the second half but Victor Letsoalo levelled matters just four minutes later for a share of the spoils.
Stars started brightly with Siphelele Mthembu doing well to create space in the Celtic box and forcing Patrick Tignyemb into a good save from his shot on the turn.
Ea Lla Koto continued to press, with Celtic restricted to shots from range that failed to test Badra Ali Sangare in goal, with Lucky Baloyi coming closest with a stinging drive.
Paulus Masehe was unable to turn a free-kick late in the half on target, as Stars ended the first 45 minutes the stronger of the two sides.
And it took just five minutes into the second period for Dlamini to fire the hosts ahead.
But the lead was short-lived, however, as Victor Letsoalo snuck into fire past Sangare.
Stars substitute Sinethemba Jantjie came agonisingly close to a winner with a well-hit free-kick as the match wore on and despite pressing for a second goal, the Celtic defence held firm.
The result saw Stars end the evening in fifth place with 39 points, and Celtic in seventh with 34 points.
