Hlongwa extends deal with Orlando Pirates

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have extended the contract of defender Brian Hlongwa for a further three seasons despite the fact he spent last season on loan with Real Kings.

Hlongwa made 27 appearances for Kings in the National First Division though he seems to have impressed as Bucs have handed him a new deal and he has been recalled to the Sea Robbers.

The player has been handed jersey number 35 for the 2019/20 campaign and he will no doubt hope to win a place in coach Milutin Sredojevic's side.

Kings coach Simo Dladla told KickOff: "He was handed jersey number 35 for the new season when the club released its squad list on Tuesday.

"He has gone to Pirates and is not coming back. They have extended his contract."

Meanwhile, Bucs defender Tercious Malepe faces an uncertain future at Mayfair after spending last season on loan to Chippa United.

According to sources, Malepe is set to meet with Pirates' management to discuss his future with the club.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
