Johannesburg - Bidvest Wits captain Thulani Hlatswayo says inform midfielder, Daine Klate, brings plenty of experience and luck to the Clever Boys.
Hlatswayo was speaking after Wits' MTN8 triumph over Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend.
The Students defeated the star studded Brazilians 3-0 in the final to claim the R8m crown at Mbombela Stadium - courtesy of Eleazar Rogers' goal and a brace from Klate.
The Bafana Bafana defender said that the Port Elizabeth-born winger always inspires the team by motivating the players and that is why they are profiting from a rich vein of form this season.
"He brings a lot of experience and energy into the team," Hlatswayo insisted.
"He always motivates us, I remember when we beat Kaizer Chiefs in the league he told us that it’s fine to lose to the big teams.
"But the squad we have in our team is more capable to beat anyone in the PSL.
"He has won everything in his career but he is still hungry for success and again luck is always on his side. He is so fortunate and wherever he goes he always wins trophies’ and we need that luck in our team."
The Wafa-Wafa title was the Students' first piece of silverware since bagging the Nedbank Cup back in the 2009/10 season under Roger De Sa’s reign.
Hlatswayo said that he was delighted to win his first trophy as a club captain.
“Personally I’m very happy to win as a player and it’s my first ever trophy as a club captain," the former Ajax Cape Town defender said.
"And obviously I’m also happy for my team Bidvest Wits because we haven’t won a trophy for a long time."
