Hlatshwayo wanted a hat-trick

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo believes he could have scored a hat-trick in the 2-1 win over University of Pretoria on Friday.

Hlatshwayo was not satisfied with only scoring a brace after missing numerous opportunities at the Bidvest Stadium.

The Bafana Bafana international grabbed a dramatic winner in the 87th minute, after his opening goal in the 36th minute, while Thabo Mnyamane pulled one back for AmaTuks.

"I had a lot of opportunities - I could have scored a hat-trick today," Hlatshwayo told SuperSport.

"I was free most of the time and if we had played to a draw or lost I was gonna feel bad because I had clear chances that I could have turned into goals.

"It was a big one for us; we want to catch up to Sundowns."
