Highlands Park will not offer Mandla Masango a contract

Cape Town - Highlands Park have decided not to sign Mandla Masango after the former Kaizer Chiefs player had a trial with the Lions of the North.

The 29-year-old Masango is a free agent but has been without a club for more than a year having left Danish side Danish side Randers FC.

Masango, who also played at Supersport United, was hoping to impress the technical staff at Highlands Park but coach Owen da Gama confirmed they will not sign the winger.

Da Gama told KickOff website: "No, Masango is no longer training with the team.

"He stopped last week. A decision was taken... no, he is a good player, but a decision was made that it's not a priority at this stage of the season considering our [league] position."

Da Gama did however confirm that former Wits midfielder Jabulani Shongwe was still training with the club.
