Highlands Park end CT City's winning run

Cape Town - Highlands Park defeated Cape Town City 2-0 in their Absa Premiership encounter at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa on Saturday.

Peter Shalulile broke the deadlock for the hosts five minutes into the second stanza with a strike inside the box after connecting well with Lindokuhle Mbatha's cross.

Tendai Ndoro doubled the lead for the Lions of the North six minutes before full-time shortly after coming on as a substitute.

Benni McCarthy’s Citizens, who were looking for their fourth win a row, lacked momentum in the closing minutes.

Highlands Park moved up to 10th spot on the overall standings, while Cape Town City are eighth.
