Cape Town - Highlands Park head coach Owen da Gama has predicted a "very tough" test for his team on Saturday, when they lock horns with an Orlando Pirates outfit looking to bounce back from defeat.
The Buccaneers suffered a shock 3-0 loss to SuperSport United in Nelspruit on Tuesday evening, just days after slumping to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Green Eagles of Zambia in the CAF Champions League.
And Da Gama is fully aware of that Pirates will be determined to "redeem themselves" following back-to-back defeats.
"I think it is going to be very tough for us against Pirates after their loss (to SuperSport)," Da Gama told reporters.
"They will come back much stronger and they will want to actually redeem themselves."
However, Da Gama insists his charges will be ready for Saturday's clash, adding: "But we have worked very hard this past week and we have tried to fix up and try improve on our performance against Maritzburg United.
"For us when you play Pirates it is self motivational because you know the players are motivated. They want to do well against Pirates‚ so it is going to be an interesting match."
He continued: "Playing against Pirates‚ a big team‚ once again‚ gives us that opportunity to get better within the league situation.
"The cup is a bit of a long haul for us.
"As I said it is our second season. We really want to try and do better than last season and the only way we can do that is to focus on the league."
