Cape Town - Vladislav Heric has admitted he is keen to take on the role of head coach at Maritzburg United following the resignation of Clive Barker earlier this week.
Barker quit the KZN club after only six games in charge and was the second man to take helm this season, after Mandla Ncikazi was sacked.
Heric, who has coached the Team of Choice before, is one of the candidates to have applied for the job. Other coaches linked with the vacancy include Shaun Bartlett and Ernst Middendorp, but Heric is determined to grab the chance with both hands if he is given the opportunity.
"I must be honest that if an offer does come I will most definitely grasp it with both hands," the Serbian said.
"I did send my application when Mandla Ncikazi left and was rejected and we don't know what will happen this time."
Maritzburg's next game is away against Platinum Stars on December 16.
