Heads to roll at Kaizer Chiefs, confirms Ernst

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp says he will make changes to the side that lost to Baroka last Saturday when they face Black Leopards this weekend.

Chiefs suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to the Absa Premiership strugglers despite coming into the game on the back of a superb performance against Cape Town City in a Nedbank Cup quarter-final.

Middendorp has made no secret of his dissatisfaction with the display citing the fact that Amakhosi's players did not put in a shift of hard work and exertion.

As such, heads are expected to roll ahead of the club's league clash with Black Leopards on Saturday afternoon at the Thohoyandou Stadium.

He said: "We will get the confirmation and evidence of distance covered, sprints [completed], movement off the ball and compare it to last week's game [against City].

"We were definitely at around 25% in all departments in terms of those statistics, and when something like this is missing, particularly against a team that was setup to close us, then it obviously gets difficult.

"I can only repeat, it's like if you have a fantastic car but you don't have fuel. Your fantastic car, of a fantastic brand with a fantastic reputation, is standing there but the fuel is not there, it's not enough and you'll miss it, that is what I see.

"It was totally disappointing and not adequate, but we have to look forward to the next game and put some other players in, we'll see. It should not happen that we are using the same players and we can't handle it."

Kick-off is at 15:00.
