Gyimah relieved with Bucs return

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates defender Edwin Gyimah says he regrets his recent suspension and being forced to watch his team from the sidelines.

Gyimah was missing in action for the Buccaneers’ matches against Polokwane City and Platinum Stars.

The Ghanaian defender returned with a Man-of-the-Match performance in the goalless draw against Maritzburg United at the weekend.

"It's painful and sad to be sidelined because of suspension," Gyimah told Goal website.

"You wish you are always there to play and I remained focused and kept training.

"I didn't lose focus and that's what helped me against Maritzburg. It was obviously team work but I had to be on top of my game to be part of the team."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
