Grobler praises hard working Fadlu Davids

Cape Town - SuperSport United striker Bradley Grobler believes Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids has shown his pedigree by transforming the Team of Choice into a top side.

The pair were team-mates at Platinum Stars close to a decade ago when the striker was breaking through into the professional ranks, while Davids was then an established performer.

The 36-year-old has since embarked on a career in coaching and he will lead Maritzburg when they face Matsatsantsa in Saturday's MTN8 semi-final at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Grobler told the Sowetan: "His work ethic was impressive back then and as a coach I believe he works even harder. You also get that sense from his players because they work hard to fight for the ball when they play.

"Obviously, they have done very well to get to where they are. They are an under-rated team and cannot be under-estimated. (But) I think we have an extremely good squad. We have many players who can play more than one position on the field."

Grobler, who has been in a rich vein of form will face his former mentor when the two sides clash in an MTN8 semi-final on Saturday with Matsatsantsa seen as the slight favourites.

Kick off is at 20:15.
