Goss accepts his PSL suspension

Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Ricardo Goss admits he deserves to be given an eight-game ban for abusing match official Masixole Mambiso.

Goss and his Clever Boys team-mate Sameehg Doutie were both found guilty by the Premier Soccer League's Disciplinary Committee after their confrontation with Mambiso became physical at Cape Town Stadium in the clash with Cape Town City on January 18.

Wits were also fined R150 000 for bringing the league into disrepute.

Goss has accepted his punishment, which was reduced to a four-game ban as long as they don't commit the same offence again, but is also anxious that it may cost him a chance to be called up to the South African national team.

"I fully accept the sentence. I deserve to be punished," said Goss, as quoted by SowetanLive.

"I am a bit disappointed that I might not be called up to the national team because I will not be playing. It's a sad thing to miss the chance of playing for the national team."
