Gordinho set for European trial

Cape Town - Kazier Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho is set to undergo a one week trial with Danish Super League side Aalborg BK, according to his agent Mike Makaab.

The 22-year-old, who has become an integral part of the Soweto giant's defence over the past 12 months, will depart from London on Wednesday, where he has been training with Championship side Fulham's development squad, along with three other Amakhosi youngsters.

However, with Gordinho only having six months left of his current contract, his agent Makaab feels their is a real possibility that his client will be joining up with the Danish club, who former Bafana Bafana striker Siyabonga Nomvethe plied his trade for.

"He's leaving Fulham today and then will stay with Aalborg until the 17th. He'll play a friendly against Hoffenheim on the 15th," he told Soccer Laduma

"They're looking for a central defender, so it's not just him going for an 'experience'. They want to have a serious look, and if he does well then maybe they'll open up discussions with Chiefs about a move."

Gordinho has scored six goals in 42 games for the Glamour Boys since making his debut in the 2014/15 season.
