Gcaba: We're working on consistency

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates defender Ayanda Gcaba feels that the team's rotation policy in recent months has hampered their momentum, but is confident they will be able to foster more consistency.

Gcaba expressed his desire to see a more consistent line-up at the Buccaneers in their upcoming games, starting with the Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on December 20.

Pirates have been forced to regularly change the make-up of the team this season as a result of having to balance their commitments in the CAF Confederation Cup and the Premiership.

However, with their CAF campaign now complete, the Buccaneers will be able to focus all of their attention on improving their performances and results on the domestic front.

"I think at times the changing of the players disturbs the understanding and gelling of the team, but we are working on that," Gcaba told Soccer Laduma.

"In recent games, mainly at home, we haven't been conceding that much, but we want to make sure we keep as many clean sheets as we can.

"I think it (the defence's biggest challenge) has been failing to keep as many clean sheets as we can and at times letting in goals, which we could have avoided.

"We are working on that, not just as defenders, but as a team. Soon everything will be fine."
