Cape Town - Supersport United have announced the signings of Thamsanqa Gabuza and Kudakwashe Mahachi from Orlando Pirates.

Gabuza, who has 16 Bafana Bafana caps, came in for plenty of criticism from Buccanneers' fans during his time at the club.

The 31-year-old even walked off the pitch after providing an assist for the opening goal in a 2-1 win over Black Leopards in August last year. This, after being incessantly booed by the supporters after missing a number of chances in the first half.

He told the club website: "I would like to thank the entire Orlando Pirates family for all they have done for me during my stay here; I leave here with a lot of wonderful memories and lifelong friendships.

"I would like to also especially thank the Chairman (Irvin Khoza) for the father figure role he has played in my life."

Meanwhile, Zimbabwean Mahachi joins Gabuza at Matsatsantsa after just one season at the club.

The 25-year-old has previously played for Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows.
