Furman reveals SuperSport to adopt CT City style

Cape Town - Midfielder Dean Furman believes SuperSport United will adopt a similar style to that which Cape Town City employed under head coach Eric Tinkler.

Tinkler led City to the Telkom Knockout trophy as well as a third-place finish in the league last season, before joining Matsatsantsa.

Furman, who is headed into his third campaign with the club, admits to admiring the way the Citizens performed last season, and believes that Tinkler will get his new team playing in the same way.

"We saw how exciting Cape Town City were last year – they were definitely one of the teams to watch‚" said the Bafana international.

"There was an element of counter-attacking football‚ transition football‚ be quick on the break – and he's certainly tried to implement that into us.

"We've worked hard on his structure and the way he wants to play. There are similarities‚ especially when you're dealing with similar players."

Furman added however that he thinks Tinkler will look for slight changes in his side's approach.

"But there are certain differences that he's going to want to see from us‚ and maybe that's a more expansive way of playing. And hopefully we'll be able to really implement that as of Saturday," he said in reference to SuperSport's MTN8 quarter-final showdown with Kaizer Chiefs in Durban on Saturday night.

Kick off is at 20:15.
