Furman praises hard work

Cape Town - SuperSport United midfielder Dean Furman was happy with the sides performance against Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout semi-final, but admits they sometimes dropped too deep.

Thabo Mnyamane's goal was enough to secure a 1-0 win for Matsatsantsa and book them a place in the final against Cape Town City

While Furman feels they played well in general, he did admit that they gave Pirates too much space on the ball and sat too deep in defence, allowing the Bucs to create chances to get back into the game.

"I thought we made tough work of it at times, we dropped very deep to let a team like Pirates have that much space, they're always going to hurt you in the final third," he said after the game.

"But I thought we defended well, Reyaad (Pieterse) made some good saves and I think if we had a bit more quality in the final third, we would have made it more comfortable for ourselves.

"It's the cup, you do whatever you can to get into the final, and we're delighted to be in the final."
