Cape Town - Free State Stars have confirmed the signing of teenager Mpho Khabane from the club's youth development feeder teams after some good performances.
The player has signed a contract for an undisclosed period of time although he will be available to coach Nikola Kavazovic and his technical team for the rest of the 2018/19 campaign.
The young striker has seemingly caught the eye of senior management at Ea Lla Koto for his performances in the ABC Motsepe League as well as the MultiChoice Diski Challenge.
The 17-year-old forward has reportedly hit two goals for the ABC Motsepe side as well as another three for the MDC outfit.
Stars said in a statement: "Stars has signed a 17-year-old star by the name of Mpho Khabane. He was recruited from the development team.
"The Bethlehem born striker who is doing his matric at NTsu High School netted three goals for the ABC Motsepe league and two in the MDC."
The rising starlet was on the bench for the recent 2-1 defeat to Absa Premiership leaders Bidvest Wits on Saturday at Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem.
Development coach Themba Sithole concluded of the young prodigy: "I have no doubt that the boy will do well.
"He is very deadly in front of goal and I wish him well in the PSL league."
