Frosler not training intensely enough to make Chiefs debut

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has confirmed Reeve Frosler won't play in the Soweto derby as he is not fit enough.

Frosler arrived from Bidvest Wits in January and has been in training with the Glamour Boys first team squad.

However, Middendorp says the right-back is not fit enough to feature against Orlando Pirates as he has been out of first team football for so long.

The player did not play a single minute of first team football in 2018/19 due to a contract dispute with the Clever Boys. He was side-lined for not wanting to sign a new deal.

The German said: "No, he's not part of the team. You can't expect to be so long out, you trained on a different level, so sorry for Reeve.

"Probably he was expecting or thinking [he would play], but we watched him for some days and after two days I was 100% sure [that he won't be ready].

"The intensity he is providing at the moment is not enough."

Saturday's action between the two fierce rivals is set to get underway from 15:30 at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
