Four goals was no fluke says Mncwango

Cape Town - Polokwane City striker Thobani Mncwango insists that his four goals against SuperSport United was no fluke and had been a long time coming.

The 28-year-old scored all four goals for his team in the 4-1 victory over Matsatsantsa at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Mncwango intends to continue his scoring form to help elevate City from their position in 13th place in the Absa Premiership.

"Obviously I'm very happy to have scored four goals. It has been long coming," Mncwango told KickOff.

"It started at training so I would like to thank the technical team a lot. I played well against SuperSport and I would like to thank them.

"I want to continue playing like this and if I can I will do it (winning the top goal scorer award).

"Since we lost to Mpumalanga Black Aces, we sat down and we talked about how we can turn things around and the position we were sitting is not okay and we have to pull up our socks and work hard.

"I'm happy we did that against SuperSport United and we must continue like this. I think if we can finish top-eight it will be okay for the team."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
