Johannesburg - Former Orlando Pirates defensive midfielder Issa Sarr has reportedly signed a two-year deal to play for Ajax Cape Town in the National First Division in 2018/19.
Sarr, who spent four seasons with the Sea Robbers and made 83 Premiership appearances, was recently released by his former employers and was a free agent.
Nonetheless, Kickoff report that he has since been snapped up by Ajax with the Urban Warriors set to compete in South Africa's second tier following relegation.
According to the publication, the 31-year-old has already put pen to paper and is available to coach Muhsin Ertugral for the upcoming campaign.
A source told the site: "Sarr is joining the Urban Warriors after recently parting ways with the Buccaneers.
"Competition for places in the middle of the park was tough and Sarr was seeing little game-time.
"There was an offer for Sarr in Qatar, but he opted to stay in South Africa because of some other reasons. He has signed a two-year deal with Ajax."
