Mashamaite, who spent four successful seasons with Chiefs from 2011 until 2015, has been clubless since parting ways with SuperSport United at the end of last season.
'Masha' ended 2018 training with Baberwa which is an ABC team based in Gauteng, with the view to hopefully winning a deal with the side.
The 34-year-old had been hopeful of being snapped up by an Absa Premiership outfit however interest from Baroka and Chippa United never led to a deal.
Nonetheless, he will now resume his career in South Africa's third tier although the length of his deal with his new team has not been disclosed.
The ambitious promotion-chasing club already boast a galaxy of former PSL stars which includes the likes of Khethokwakhe Masuku, Bheki Nzunga, Linda Shiba, Lucky Khune and Mthokhozisi Yende, amongst others.
Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns winger Luyolo Nomandela is another in the ranks as well as former Black Leopards midfielder Tumisang Matlholwa.
