Former Chiefs, Pirates striker Marc Batchelor killed in apparent hit

Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker, Marc Batchelor, was shot dead on Monday evening in what appears to be a hit.

According to Soccer Laduma, Batchelor was shot and killed in a car in Olivedale, Johannesburg. 

Police confirmed the news that Batchelor had died at the scene and that nothing was taken from his vehicle. They are investigating further.

News24 reported that police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini said that two men on motorbikes fired the shots that killed Batchelor.

"He was shot through the window several times and died at the scene," Dlamini said.
