Former Chiefs left-back denies having Maritzburg trial

Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Tsepo Masilela has denied reports he failed a trial period at Maritzburg United and insists he is still assessing his options.

After six years of stellar service with the Glamour Boys, Masilela was released in June following the expiry of his contract at Naturena.

As such, the 33-year-old is a free agent and a recent media report suggested the left-back had failed an assessment with the Team of Choice.

However, both the club and the player have made it clear that this information is false as he was never in contact with the Pietermaritzburg-based outfit.

"I saw the reports, but I don't know anything about joining Maritzburg," the ex-Bafana Bafana star also told KickOff website.

"I haven't been in contact with the club or anything. I'm still considering my options with regards to my future, but there is nothing I can share at this moment."
