Former Buc compares Mhango to Pirates great

Cape Town - Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates midfielder Ernest 'Wire' Mtawali has compared Gabadinho Mhango to Jerry Sikhosana.

Mhango scored a peach of a goal for his third of the season in the 3-2 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Saturday and has impressed in general since his off-season switch from Bidvest Wits.

And Mtawali believes there is plenty more to come from the Malawian sharpshooter, whom he said reminds him of a former teammate.

"That's the typical Gabadihno," Mtawala told KickOff.

"He has so much talent. At his age, I think he is now at his peak. He is at the right club and this is a big break for him.

"He reminds me of Jerry Sikhosana. He harasses the defence, he fights, he gives his all on the field.

"I am not surprised. He's a natural-born goal scorer. He showed his potential at a very young age. To come and play for Bullets at his age is not child's play. Bullets are a big team in Malawi just like Pirates and Chiefs.

"I believe there is still more to come and he's definitely a player to watch this season."

When the Premiership resumes the Buccaneers will face Polokwane City on Tuesday, November 23.
