Former Bafana coach's son extends Chiefs stay

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeping coach Lee Baxter has extended his stay with the Absa Premiership leaders for another two years.

On a day which had plenty going on in the boardroom, Chiefs tied down Bernard Parker, Willard Katsande and Daniel Akpeyi to new deals and have now confirmed an extension in the backroom coaching staff.

Baxter, who is the son of former Bafana Bafana and Chiefs coach Stuart, has been praised for the improved form of Super Eagles shot-stopper Daniel Akpeyi, who has taken the number one jersey from Itumeleng Khune.

Chiefs posted on their official Twitter account: "We are pleased to announce that goalkeeper coach, Lee Baxter has extended his existing contract to June 2022."

Amakhosi are back in action on Saturday, February 8 as they entertain the Royal Eagles in the Nedbank Cup Round of 32.

Kick-off will be at 18:00 at FNB Stadium.
