Cape Town - Bidvest Wits midfielder Granwald Scott believes poor finishing is undermining the club this season but is hopeful for an improvement against Golden Arrows on Saturday.
The reigning Absa Premiership champions go into the league contest this weekend having hit just 16 goals in 20 matches, as coach Gavin Hunt's men currently occupy 14th position in the standings.
Striker James Keene is the side's leading scorer in the PSL with three strikes, suggesting that the Clever Boys need great improvement in the goal-scoring department.
Scott told Kickoff: "The finishing is the problem, I think it’s the case all over South Africa. But the confidence is coming, slowly but surely.
"We've been scoring goals and not conceding too many again, and it's now only about finding the back of the net.
"We're creating chances, it's about players being in the right frame of mind in front of goal and trying to calm themselves down before receiving the ball.
"We often overthink stuff or the situation before we receive the ball in the box, and that is what has been letting us down."
Saturday's clash takes place at Arrows' home ground at the Princess Magogo Stadium. The action gets underway from 15:30 in Durban.
