Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper Jody February has revealed his delight at Anssi Jaakkola's move to English Championship side Reading.
Jaakkola ended a three-year stay in South Africa with the Urban Warriors earlier this week to embark on a new chapter in his career with the Royals.
South Africa Under-23 keeper February, who helped Shakes Mashaba's side win the COSAFA Cup in Namibia last month, wished Jaakkola well and says he picked up valuable tips from the Finn.
The 20-year-old also sees the move as a perfect opportunity to stake his claim for the number-one jersey at Ikamva next season, where he will battle it out with fellow academy graduates Brandon Peterson and Darren Johnson.
"I'm happy for Anssi. Everyone knew he wanted to be back in Europe and he got a big move to a big club," February told KickOff.
"His professionalism and approach to each training [session] and game, that I learnt from him and it will benefit me.
"It opens doors for myself and Brandon and Darren to now claim the number-one spot that's there for the taking.
"It's a win-win for everyone. It's a good opportunity for myself. It's going to be up to me how that works and what I put in."
