Cape Town - Free State Stars have relieved coach Luc Eymael of his duties following some uncertain form for the club in the Absa Premiership in 2018/19.
Eymael had seemingly been on thin ice this season due to some disappointing results for the Bethlehem-based outfit.
Ea Lla Koto have won just three of their 14 matches in the current campaign, collecting 13 points during that period.
After Stars lost to SuperSport United last weekend, there had been doubts about the Belgian's position with the team.
Last season the 59-year-old guided the side to an admirable sixth placed finish and also won the Nedbank Cup with a victory over Maritzburg United.
However, poor results in '18/19 has caused him to part ways with the club.
He told Soccer Laduma website: "I have had a meeting with the club and an agreement has been reached to terminate the contract. It was a mutual agreement."
The coach is said to be planning to meet with Stars' players on Tuesday to say his goodbyes to them.
It is the second coaching change in the PSL on Monday as Black Leopards parted ways with Joel Masutha, who resigned from his role after poor form.
