Ex-Zambia coach set for Baroka job - report

Cape Town - Absa Premiership outfit Baroka FC are reportedly set to announce former Zambia national team boss Wedson Nyirenda as the new coach of the team.

Former interim manager MacDonald Makhubedu was let go just before the season ended, with technical director Doctor Khumalo leading Bakgaga towards the end of the campaign.

Earlier in 2017/18, Kgoloko Thobejane was sacked for a breach of team rules involving the consumption of alcohol on the team bus.

Nonetheless, despite the upheavals in the camp, the outfit from Polokwane finished in 14th spot and avoided relegation.

With that said, Soccer Laduma website believes that Nyirenda is set to take the reins in the near future with a two-year deal having been agreed between all the parties involved.

The publication's source said: "Wedson Nyirenda will be the new coach of Baroka as from the start of the new season.

"An announcement will be made sometime in June."
