Cape Town - Black Leopards have started negotiations to sign former Orlando Pirates striker Bernard Morrison, according to the player's agent.
The 26-year-old Morrison signed for Pirates in 2016 but left the Soweto giants last year after struggling to get regular first-team football.
Morrison has also played for African giants Ashanti Gold in his home country Ghana and AS Vita of DR of Congo but could be returning to South Africa's top-flight.
The player's agent, Paul Mujuni, said his client has previously worked with current Leopards coach Luc Eymael.
Mujuni told KickOff: "Black Leopards are interested in my player Bernard Morrison as coach Luc Eymael knows him from AS Vita.
"We also had interest from Zesco of Zambia and Gor Mahia of Kenya, but we will settle for the one here as the player still has a lot to offer in the PSL.
"He is referred to as Maradona. He is a free agent."
Eymael also confirmed that his club have been in talks with the forward but said bringing a foreign player to the team has its own challenges.
The Lidoda Duvha mentor, also speaking to Kickoff, said: "Yes it can be a possibility, but we've not yet discussed with the management.
"You know first of all we have to release some foreigners, and we can only release foreigners after the end of December.
"So, after that, we will see how many foreign players we can get."
