Cape Town - Chippa United have confirmed the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs winger William Twala until at least the end of the season.
Twala was released by Free State Stars recently and has moved to Chippa as a free agent.
The forward had been on trial with Chippa last week under the watchful eye of new coach Clinton Larsen.
He was assessed along with former Orlando Pirates and Wits attacker Sifiso Myeni.
However, it seems that Twala caught the eye while Myeni did not do enough to impress and was not offered a contract with the Chilli Boys.
In recent times, the Port Elizabeth-based outfit also recruited Gladwin Shitolo and Phetso Maphanga as well as Bangaly Keita and Donashano Malama.
Gone through the exit door are Jabulani Shongwe, Thabo Nthethe, Miguel Timm, Thami Sangweni, Nkosinathi Mthiyane and Zaphaniah Mbokoma in January.
United are next in action on Saturday when they face Mamelodi Sundowns in a Nedbank Cup last-32 clash at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
