'Everybody is for sale' at Wits, says coach Hunt

Cape Town - Wits coach Gavin Hunt has confirmed that all of his players are available for sale if the right offers come in.

It appears Wits are re-structuring financially as they have already made a number of cuts in the youth development ranks as well as from the backroom staff and playing squad.

Orlando Pirates are said to be extremely interested in signing Thulani Hlatshwayo whereas Thabo Monare and Sifiso Hlanti are also said to be on the radar of both Bucs and Kaizer Chiefs.

Hunt told reporters: "As I said it before everybody is for sale, doesn't matter who you are, even myself I'm for sale if the price is right. We don't want to sell any player unless it's the right price."

The experienced mentor also revealed goalkeeper Darren Keet had left the club while revealing he is happy with the performance of his new signings last Saturday in the Msunduzi Cup in Maritzburg.

He said: "I thought Siyanda Zwane, Prince Nxumalo, Sameehg Doutie, Zitha Macheke were all fantastic, we are happy with all of them. I'm always looking at getting the best from my best players.

"Keet is gone, we have another great keeper in Brandon Peterson and Ricardo Goss, we are okay there."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
