Evans joins Ajax in 18-month loan deal

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town have confirmed they secured the services of defender Rheece Evans on an 18-month loan deal from Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 26-year-old has hardly featured for Pitso Mosimane's side during his two-and-a-half year spell at Chloorkop, making just four appearances in all competitions.

Evans, who missed out on a deadline-day loan move to Cape Town City in the last transfer window, has been snapped up by the Urban Warriors and will be in contention for a starting berth against Chippa United, according to the club's website.

"The 26-year-old has joined the club on an 18-month loan deal," the club statement read.

"Evans arrived at Ikamva on Wednesday afternoon and will be available for selection for the club's Absa Premiership meeting against Chippa United next Wednesday, with the right-back to link up with his new team-mates later this week.

"Everyone at Ajax would like to take this opportunity to welcome the Durban-born fullback to the club."
