Ertugral runs the rule over Rode

Cape Town - Mpumalanga Black Aces head coach Muhsin Ertugral has confirmed he is having a look at Renars Rode in a bid to further bolster his defensive options.

Ertugral added experienced right-back Bryce Moon to his squad last month in the hope that he could help maintain an impressive start to the Premiership season for AmaZayoni.

The Nelspruit outfit are currently third in the league standings after winning six of their opening 11 matches this term to trail front-runners Bidvest Wits by five points.

Ertugral felt both the left and right sides of defence were more balanced with Moon's arrival, and the Turk is now targeting the heart of his backline after handing a trial to centre-back Rode, who has four caps for Latvia.

"The players I have signed from that region [Latvia] are always doing well," Ertugral told KickOff.

"We got him here just to see if he could adjust."
