Ertugral backs new Bucs to shine

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral has backed Abbubaker Mobara and Riyaad Norodien to grow under his mentorship at the Soweto giants.

The pair were the first signings made by the Buccaneers in the transfer window after joining from Ajax Cape Town.

New Pirates coach Ertugral is renowned in the Premiership for nurturing young talent.

"These boys are very bright talents and that's exactly why I acquired their services," Ertugral told KickOff.

"They're young, exciting and have lots of pace, and that's what the team needs. Of course, they have a lot to learn but I'm confident that Mobara and Norodien will prosper with Pirates."

Ertugral was excited about his first match at Pirates against rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Carling Black Label Cup on Saturday.

"It's a very unique competition and you won't find it in any other part of the world. It's a fantastic football event for both player and spectator," he added.

"It's a game that will definitely pose a nice challenge for the team, however, I don't think that our season rests on this.

"It will show what we have and what we don't have. But like I said, our season doesn't depend on what happens in the game, win or lose."
