Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has hailed Nkosingiphile Ngcobo as a fantastic player who has the potential to become a consistent match-winner for the club.
Ngcobo made his debut last Friday in the 1-1 draw against SuperSport United at the Mbombela Stadium and created Khama Billiat's equaliser in the Premiership contest.
However, he did pick up a knock in the game and was substituted in the second half.
The club has since confirmed that Ncobo injured his Achilles tendon on Friday and will see a specialist on Monday.
Nonetheless, Middendorp was impressed by the young star's performance. The 19-year-old was promoted from Chiefs' MultiChoice Diski Challenge team.
He told reporters: "This is a fantastic quality outstanding, and it is really something that I believe if he has started at the beginning of the season and consistently working with the squad where he could be now?
"But he is a player with huge potential, unfortunately he got an injury not so good."
Meanwhile, the experienced German mentor provided an update about the injured trio of Lebohang Manyama, Eric Mathoho and Dumisani Zuma, concluding: "Players like Manyama and don't forget about Mathoho these are excellent players.
"Good blow today (Friday) it happened during the week in terms of bringing in Zuma who scored two goals in the last two games he got a knock and he was not really pain-free and we had a chat before and we had to leave him out."
"Is a little bit of a situation where I think Manyama hopefully he will make some appearance latest middle of April I will say."
