Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp declared himself "very happy with the result" after Amakhosi returned to the winning trail with a 2-0 victory over league leaders Wits.
The first-half ended goalless, but the deadlock was eventually broken just before the hour mark through Leonardo Castro.
Hendrick Ekstein made sure of the result when he found the back of the net in the 78th minute.
The result saw Chiefs move up to fifth place in the Absa Premiership standings, just one point behind Sundowns in fourth. This result came after a 2-1 defeat to Pitso Mosimane's side at the weekend.
"We haven't been disappointed with our performances," Middendorp told SuperSport TV after the game.
"We played a very good game against Sundowns. We were just not on our game for crucial moments as everyone knows.
"And then it's always a little bit difficult three or four days later to go with the right, brave attitude in to a game like Bidvest. They are the top team in the PSL.
"We have seen they are very structured, very clear purpose in their game and yes, you have to counter it.
"I think we have done it in a proper way. We scored two goals. They scored nothing and yes, I'm very happy with the result."
Next up for Amakhosi is a CAF Confederations Cup clash with ZESCO United in Zambia on Sunday, with the return leg set to take place on January 18.
