Erasmus 'satisfied but not entirely' happy after CT City debut

Cape Town - Cape Town City striker Kermit Erasmus says he was glad to make his debut against SuperSport United on Saturday, though he wasn't happy with his performance.

City won the contest 1-0 thanks to a late Gift Links goal in the 89th minute at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.

Nonetheless, the encounter marked first team football for the first time in close to a year for Erasmus.

The former Orlando Pirates star endured a generally poor spell in Europe with France's Stade Rennais and Lens, Sweden's AFC Eskilstuna and Portugal's Vitoria Setubal.

The forward penned a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Citizens in December.

"I am satisfied but not entirely happy," the 28-year-old told reporters after the game as quoted by KickOff website

"If you look at the final third, I think I could have done better. But it's my first game after let's say a year.

"I am happy to get a chance to play again. I had a little bit of a strain, but I kept on going because I have not been playing for a year.

"I just want to enjoy myself and be on the field of play."

The Bafana Bafana international picked up a minor niggle against United but insists he will be fit to face Baroka this weekend.

He concluded: "It's not too bad. It's a small strain. I will be back [for the] next game against Baroka."
