Cape Town - South African-born defender and Crystal Palace player Nikola Tavares reportedly turned down a lucrative offer to sign for Kaizer Chiefs.
It appears the 20-year-old is highly regarded by Palace and reports have emerged he has been offered a new deal in London.
Tavares made his name in the junior teams of Brighton and Middlesbrough before winning a move to the Eagles in 2018/19.
However, he did not make an official appearance in the first team but seems to be one earmarked for the future for the Roy Hdgson-coached outfit.
The Cape Town-born star has been linked with playing for South Africa's junior national sides but has already played for Croatia's junior sides as he has Croatian ancestry.
Soccer Laduma report that Chiefs tabled a bid for his services though at this stage it seems he appears to want to continue playing in Europe.
Croatian giants Hajduk Split are also said to have had an interest in securing his signature, though it appears his future could remain in England's capital with Palace.
