Ekstein will turn down overseas move - agent

Cape Town - Recently departed Kaizer Chiefs playmaker Hendrick Ekstein will turn down a move overseas and play his football in South Africa if his agent's quotes are anything to go by.

Ekstein parted company with Amakhosi last week after the player could not come to an agreement on a new contract with the Soweto giants.

It is thought that Orlando Pirates and Supersport United are interested in signing the midfielder who is now available on a free transfer.

However, there have also been enquiries from teams abroad for the services of the 28-year-old, but his agent Palesa Mkhize did not seem too keen on the idea.

Mkhize told KickOff website: "There have been a few enquiries from overseas, but you must also remember that there are some challenges in other countries where the issue of national team caps plays a role.

"At the moment he is at home and training at Virgin Active. He will only decide his future in football at the end of season, which is basically next week."

Kaizer Chiefs are currently busy clearing out their squad as they also released goalkeeper Virgil Vries on Wednesday.
