'Downs to pile pressure on Wits

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns will look to continue their strong form in the Absa Premiership when they host Free State Stars at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Sundowns claimed a fifth win from their last six league matches when they defeated Chippa United 1-0 away on November 4.

The Tshwane side has claimed 10 points from four home matches this season.

The Brazilians are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 20 points from 10 matches.

Stars extended their unbeaten run to five matches with a goalless draw at home to SuperSport United on November 1.

The Free State Side has claimed six points from four away matches this season.

Ea Lla Koto are placed 11th on the Absa Premiership log with 11 points from eight matches

Sundowns and Stars have met in 51 league matches since 1986.

The Brazilians have claimed 24 wins compared to 10 for Ea Lla Koto, while 17 matches have been drawn.

Sundowns have won 15 of their 26 home matches against Stars, suffering just three defeats in the process.

Last season the Brazilians completed a league ‘double’ over Ea Lla Koto with 2-0 wins both home and away.

‘Downs have seven of their last eight league matches against Stars.

Kick-off is at 20:15 on Saturday, 21 November.
