'Downs, Bucs and Highlands in race for Phewa

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns, Highlands Park and Orlando Pirates are in the running to sign Luvuyo Phewa from Real Kings in the National First Division.

It appears the 19-year-old has caught the eye for his performances for South Africa's U20 national team.

Last weekend the attacking star scored in a 3-2 defeat to Lesotho in a CHAN qualifier in Maseru.

However, while all three teams are interested in his services - it seems the Lions of the North have a slight advantage as they have made an official offer.

Kings coach Simo Dladla told KickOff: "There have been talks with Sundowns and Pirates but nothing official.

"Highlands Park is the team that has put down an offer."
