Cape Town - Former Bafana stars Bernard Parker and Tsepo Masilela have both recovered from their ankle injuries and should be back in action for Kaizer Chiefs in the near future.
Parker is closer to returning and could be in contention to feature for Chiefs in their Nedbank Cup last 32 match away at Golden Arrows on Sunday, while Masilela is expected to be back soon after.
"Parker has recovered from an ankle injury. He is back in training with the rest of the squad," club physiotherapist Dave Milner told the Amakhosi website.
"Tsepo has recovered from his ankle injury. He is on continuous assessment to get him ready for full training," he added.
Milner also said that new-signing Kabelo Mahlasela is making good progress with his recovery.
"Mahlasela has started with rehab in the gym. He is doing cardio and leg strengthening. He is still using crutches and a brace. We are looking at eight weeks to go before he resumes training on the pitch," he said.
Philani Zulu meanwhile faces a race against time to get fit for Sunday's match against Arrows, having hurt his ankle in the 1-1 draw with Bidvest Wits last Saturday.
"Zulu sprained his ankle. He is undergoing treatment and will be under assessment throughout the week," Milner explained.
Kick-off is at 15:30.
