Dikwena duo heading for the land of the Pharaohs

Cape Town - Platinum Stars duo Gift Links and Benson Shilongo are expected to soon seal transfers to Egyptian Premier League side Al Assiouty Sport.

The move has been arranged by the two players' agency, the Siyavuma Sports Group, whose spokesman Msizi Gumede confirmed that a move is imminent.

"Yes, Platinum Stars have accepted an offer for Gift Links and the clearance is being done as we speak," he told Soccer Laduma website.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for Gift, who is a top young player. Going to Egypt, to a good club with a great set up, we believe will be the catalyst to him achieving greater things, he's a player who can go all the way given the breaks and the hard work that's needed from his side.

"At the same time as, scouting Gift the same club also inquired about Benson [Shilongo, a Namibian international]. He was available from Stars and had performed well against North African teams in the CAF Confederation Cup.

"He's a goal scorer of note with nine last season and the previous two seasons he was the top scorer in Botswana. It's also a great opportunity for him to showcase his talent in North Africa."
