De Sa: Shandu is going to be a superstar

Cape Town - Maritzburg United coach Roger de Sa has expressed his high hopes for midfielder Bandile Shandu who recently put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Team of Choice.

The 22-year-old has been a regular for United in 2016/17, playing in nine of their 15 league games, with the Team of Choice currently in eighth on the Premiership standings.

Shandu, who is youth development product of the club, and made his professional debut at the age of 17 against Orlando Pirates, will remain in Pietermaritzburg until 2020 at least.

As such, De Sa takes the view that Shandu has all the ability needed to become a big star in the PSL.

"Having watched him a little bit during the season and now trained with him for the last week, he is definitely special talent with so much to offer," he told the club's official website.

"It's also good for the city. The more we can have like this the better, we want to grow our own players and show what the city is all about. I think he is going to be a superstar, I really do."
